Every ring we craft is a work of art, crafted from the highest-quality materials. As such, jewelry purchased from The Jewelry Source should be treated with the care reserved for fine jewelry. Avoid exposing your ring to chemicals such as cleaning supplies, swimming pools, hot tubs, saltwater, and other similar substances. For routine cleaning, a gentle approach is usually sufficient. For most rings, we recommend using a microfiber cloth and a suitable jewelry cleaner. However, meteorite and Damascus steel require a bit of special care.

Meteorite and Damascus Steel Cleaning:

To preserve the beauty of your meteorite or Damascus ring, it's vital to shield it from exposure to saltwater, swimming pools, hot tubs, and harsh chemicals. Submerging these precious metals in such elements can diminish their luster, requiring cleaning. You can easily restore the shine of your meteorite ring at home with a toothbrush and rubbing alcohol, while Damascus steel can be cleaned with a toothbrush or cloth using mineral oil or gunmetal oil. For particularly stubborn spots, we're more than happy to restore your ring's brilliance in our shop, free of charge! After cleaning, a light coating of olive or gunmetal oil, combined with your body's natural oils, will safeguard the meteorite from moisture, ensuring your ring continues to shine brightly.
